Spomen Dom in Crkvicko Polje
Spomen dom in Crkvicko covers the area of 700 square meters and was built in 1981.Before the Second World War there used to be the school, and during the war there was the central hospital for the wounded partisans from Igman. Passage of time almost ruined the Spomen dom, and only one room was usable, where the office of the local community was situated.
Within the project "Support to the development of tourism in northern Montenegro“ which implements the Italian NGO" COSV and local NGOs Tara, the reconstruction of the Spomen dom also took place. Now it is a tourist facility with 40 beds, kitchen, restaurant and small museum, as well as the ambulance. In addition to incredible natural beauties, we stress that the Spomen dom is only ten km away from Tara river, which is, due to the rafting, visited by thousands of domestic and foreign tourists every summer. In this area there are very important cultural and historical monuments such as the Soko city, monastery on Zagrađe, and tombstones in the cemetery at Crkvicko Polje, about which very few tourists know.
Bikes, compasses, ski equipment with the snowshoes are available to the tourists because it is envisaged that the facility shall work also in the winter. Therefore, in the final year of the project it is planned to develop Nordic ski trail at the site Graba, near the Spomen dom.. Also, more than 200 km of hiking-biking trails which are near Spomen dom
